As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact both our nation and the globe, we’re putting in place additional measures to ensure we can continue to serve the Canberra community throughout this challenging time.

At Icon Water, we’ve been providing safe, clean drinking water and wastewater services to Canberra residents for over 100 years. The community places a lot of trust in us to do this and it’s a job we take seriously.

We’re working with both the ACT Government and Water Services Association Australia, as well as other water utilities, to ensure we have the most up to date information and best practices in place to inform our processes around drinking water and wastewater. We can assure you that there are no impacts to the quality of your water or wastewater services due to COVID-19. You can read more on this on our Water and Sewer page below.

We also enacted our Emergency Management Response team in early March to ensure we could manage the evolving situation and the implications for both our people and services.

While a large percentage of our employees are working from home and have been since mid-March, our team on the frontline, including those in the field and in our plants, must continue to be out in the community to maintain and manage our water and sewer network.

It’s important that you don’t approach our crews while they are completing works in your area and maintain social distancing at all times. Our crews are there to keep your water running and your sewer flowing, and we must protect them.

If you have a question regarding some of the work that’s been completed in your community, call our 24/7 faults line on 02 6248 3111 or message us on our Facebook page and we’ll provide all the info you need.

We’re also conscious that throughout the next few months,  you may face financial strain and find it difficult to pay your bills on time. We’re here for you. We have various options to support you to get back on your feet. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us to discuss your individual circumstances and we can come up with a plan that suits you.

We’ve been through many challenges as a community - droughts, bushfires, and now COVID-19 -and we’ll continue to place the safety of our community and our employees at the forefront of what we do each and every time.
