Helping Canberra refill and chill this summer

January 18, 2019

Icon Water and ACT Health have partnered to support Refill Canberra, making it even easier to stay healthy and hydrated during Canberra’s hot summer.

Emily Harper, Preventive and Population Health, ACT Health, and Icon Water Managing Director Ray Hezkial jointly launched the program at The Knox Made in Watson today.

“We are proud to provide Canberrans with some of the best quality water in Australia,” said Mr Hezkial. “Water straight from the tap is the healthiest way to stay hydrated this summer.

Refill Canberra celebrates local cafes, shops and venues that are happy to provide tap water to fill your water bottles while you’re out and about.

“Being able to refill on the go means you can always have a supply of Canberra’s top drop with you.”

To find your nearest Refill Canberra venue, visit or look for the stickers on shop doorways. Refill Canberra venue staff will be happy to refill your bottle with clean, fresh Canberra water.

The Bureau of Meteorology advises that warmer than average days and nights are likely throughout this summer for almost all of Australia.

“The launch of Refill Canberra is a timely reminder to Canberrans to stay hydrated and healthy,” Ms Harper said.

Refill Canberra is a great partnership between ACT Health and Icon Water, and will give Canberrans greater access to high quality drinking water thanks to the generous local businesses participating in the program.

“We need to drink at least 2 – 3 litres of water every day – especially in the heat of summer. By carrying your own water bottle you can be sure of having water on hand.”
