A drop of Canberra’s finest for café society

September 5, 2019

Icon Water are serving up new water carafes for Canberra venues, with Managing Director Ray Hezkial launching the vessels at Bittersweet café in Green Square Kingston at 10 am today.

“Sometimes the best thing to drink with your meal is water straight from the tap, and we are proud to provide Canberrans with some of the best quality water in Australia,” said Mr Hezkial.

“A water carafe is one way customers can enjoy a drink with their meal without single use plastic bottles, helping the environment and saving money.”

Venues were consulted on the design of the carafes to make sure they were both stylish and practical. They have a wide neck, to make sure they can be cleaned easily, and a silicon lid to keep the contents fresh.

The new carafes will be distributed for free across Canberra’s venues over the coming months, while stocks last.

Cafés can apply for the carafes at iconwater.com.au/drinktap, where they can also sign up for Refill Canberra, a partnership between Icon Water and ACT Health.

Refill Canberra celebrates local cafes, shops and venues that are happy to provide tap water to fill your water bottles while you’re out and about.

“Being able to refill on the go means you can always have a supply of Canberra’s top drop with you.”

To find your nearest Refill Canberra venue, visit www.health.act.gov.au/refillcanberra or look for the stickers on shop doorways. Refill Canberra venue staff will be happy to refill your bottle with clean, fresh Canberra water.

“We need to drink at least 2 – 3 litres of water every day – especially in the heat of summer. By making the choice to drink tap, with a meal or on the go, you can stay healthy and hydrated,” said Mr Hezkial.
