Appendix F - Requirements for Design Submission 2 (Detailed Design) - Sewerage

Drawings specified below shall include all relevent information as described in Appendix B, AS 1100 and Standard Drawing No. WSS 001. Required documentation must include:

  1. A key drawing of all hydraulic assets (1:1000) showing pipe system layout, location of maintenance holes, maintenance shafts and rodding points, and any special structures (for example, pump station, engineered drop structure, vents etc.). Q1, Q2 and Q100 must also be shown for any streams, lakes or ponds in close proximity to the proposed sewers;
  2. 1:500 scale detail drawings showing the following details:
    1. Sewer Maintenance Holes (SMH):
      • Unique identifier;
      • Horizontal position (ACT SG Easting and Northing);
      • Vertical position (AHD cover level);
      • Size (DN);
      • Material;
      • Construction method (in-situ-cast, pre-cast);
      • Type and class of cover;
      • Offsets as per Standard Drawing No. WSS 062 or detail drawing number;
      • Additional information for External Drops (ED):
        • Size (DN);
        • Drop height (m);
        • Material.
      • Additional information for Educt Vents (SVE):
        • Horizontal position (ACT SG Easting and Northing);
        • Size (DN);
        • Height (m);
        • Material.

        Note: Where the vent is not located at the SMH the connecting conduit should be treated as a sewer main.

        • Horizontal position (ACT SG Easting and Northing);

    2. Sewer Maintenance Shafts (SMS):

    9. Straight Sewer Mains:
      • Horizontal length*;
      • Invert level at upstream end *, (AHD);
      • Invert level at downstream end *, (AHD);
      • Size (DN);
      • Material;
      • Class of pipe;
      • Type of jointing;
      • Grade %;
      • Easement width (left of pipe centreline, viewed DS);
      • Easement width (right of pipe centreline, viewed DS);
      • Bedding type;
      • Number of scour and trench stops;
      • If not parallel to kerb or block boundary, additional information for horizontally curved sewer mains:
        • Radius of centre line of horizontal curvature (m);
        • Horizontal position - start of curve, Easting and Northing, (ACT SG);
        • Horizontal position - end of curve, Easting and Northing (ACT SG);
      • Additional information for vertically curved sewer mains:
        • Rate of change of grade (metres per metre);
        • Starting grade percentage;
        • End grade percentage;
        • Intermediate invert levels at a maximum of 5.0 metre spacing.

      Note: * at IP for design, at inside face of structure for WAE.

    10. Property Connections:
      • Size DN;
      • Material;
      • BVR (if used);

    Where details under items (a) through (j) apply to all structures on the drawing, these can be covered under drawing notes.

  3. Longitudinal profiles showing chainages, surface and invert levels, and details of adjacent structures likely to be of concern to Icon Water as the operating authority for all mains larger than DN300, or deeper than 5.0 metres, or with less than standard cover, or passing closer than the standard clearances to other services;
  4. Full construction details and specifications for all non-standard or special works (e.g. special structures, drops, non-standard maintenance holes, pump stations, etc.) not fully described by this document or the Basic Specification (Reference 5.1);
  5. Where non-standard alignments are proposed which encroach onto the normal service reservations of other utilities, evidence is required of agreement from the affected utilities to the use of the alignments.

Appendix G - Pipe Layer Accreditation Requirements

Pipe layer accreditation for specific pipeline materials may be gained through the corresponding installation programme. Acceptable programmes are detailed below:
