Pricing and your Customer Contract

From 1 July 2016, charges for drinking water will increase by 0.4 per cent on average and sewerage charges will increase by 1.2 per cent on average. This will result in an overall increase of $2 per quarter to a typical household water and sewerage bill with water consumption of 200kL per year. This will enable Icon Water to keep delivering top quality water and sewerage services to the Canberra community.

Your contract will also have some changes from 1 July 2016.

These changes include:

 

  • Icon Water owns and operates the water and sewerage assets and business in the ACT. The Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission (ICRC) has approved changes to Icon Water’s Standard Customer Contract for Water and Sewerage Services Connection and Supply, which outlines how our customers are charged for water and sewerage services;

  • The scope, intent and effect of the changes are to update references to the Utilities (Technical Regulation) Act 2014 (ACT);

  • Standard Customer Contracts required under the Non Drinking Water Supply Code have also been introduced for raw water, recycled water and Uriarra customers;
