Googong Dam Tour

Googong is our largest dam, holding over 119 million litres of water! On this tour you’ll learn about the dam itself, how the community can protect water quality and the types of recreation allowed in the area. We’ll also teach you about the processes at the water treatment plant as well as how we supply water to the ACT, Queanbeyan and Googong township.

Please note: The Googong Water Treatment Plant tours are only available when the plant is operational.
Tours take about 55 minutes and are suitable for secondary (7-12) and tertiary students. There can be a minimum of 10, up to a maximum of 30, participants per tour. For school groups we require a supervision ratio of 1:15.

Please note: all participants must wear full length long pants, long sleeves and enclosed flat shoes to visit our treatment plants. These are active industrial sites and your safety is important to us.
