Icon Water to continue interim executive leadership arrangements

Icon Water has confirmed its interim executive leadership arrangements will continue following ActewAGL’s appointment of Mr Ray Hezkial as Chief Executive Officer.

Ms Joy Yau has led Icon Water as Interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer since March 2026, when Mr Hezkial commenced as ActewAGL Interim Chief Executive Officer. Ms Yau will continue in her interim role, supported by the Icon Water Executive team, including Mr Virat Behla who will continue as Acting Chief Financial Officer.

A market recruitment process for a permanent Managing Director will be undertaken in the coming months, with interim arrangements remaining in place until that process is complete.
Icon Water Board Chair Ms Carol Lilley thanked Mr Hezkial for his significant contribution to Icon Water and the Canberra community over the past 23 years.
