Making a difference
Each year, Icon Water’s Community Support Program proudly provides funding to not-for-profit and community organisations working in areas such as inclusion, disability, health and wellbeing, sports, and sustainability. The program helps turn meaningful ideas into real outcomes for people across the region.
Making a difference
For many organisations, Icon Water’s support has enabled them to expand their reach and deliver experiences that would not otherwise be possible.
"We host a Christmas Party for 1,500 children from across the ACT and surrounding communities, catering to children with disabilities and complex needs," says Canberra Children’s Christmas Party spokesperson Donna Bowen. "We provide them with a day full of food and drinks, activities, interactive displays, a stage show, and much more. Icon Water's sponsorship over the years has enabled hundreds of children to attend our free, inclusive Christmas Party, allowing them to celebrate the festive season with the wider community and feel connected."
During this financial year, 26 groups have delivered projects that created real, measurable benefits for the community.
"Thanks to Icon Water’s Community Support Program, Tennis ACT can host large, free community events that showcase the inclusivity of tennis, strengthen community connection with the sport and put racquets directly into the hands of people wanting to play," says Tennis ACT spokesperson Mark La Brooy. "In 2025 and 2026 with Icon Water’s support we were able to phase out single-use plastics for ball kids, volunteers and event staff. And the impact goes beyond tennis – contributing to a more active, connected, happier and healthy community."
These stories reflect the heart of the Community Support Program: partnering with local organisations to deliver lasting, positive change across the region.
"Community is at the heart of everything we do. Supporting local groups isn’t an add‑on – it’s part of Icon Water’s identity as a reliable and caring organisation that is deeply connected to a proud history of serving Canberrans for over 100 years" says Davina McCormick, Icon Water General Manager Customer Engagement. "Being a trusted part of the region means more than providing essential water services – it means showing up for the community and helping it thrive."
