The Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission (the independent regulator) updated water and sewerage prices for the ACT for the upcoming financial year.
Earlier this year, the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission (the independent regulator) decided how water and sewerage prices for the ACT will be calculated for the next five years.

Icon Water advises that due to the heavy rain over recent days and significantly increased flow in the sewerage system, the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre wastewater treatment plant bypass dam is discharging partially treated and settled effluent into the Molonglo River.
Icon Water has published a price proposal for water and wastewater services in the ACT for the five-year regulatory period from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2028.
The Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has set the 2022–23 water and sewerage prices for the ACT. From 1 July 2022, water and sewerage prices will be adjusted to account for the Consumer Price Index (CPI), government charges, and market factors.
In 2021, you saw our team of blockage busters in action removing wet wipes and other nasties from our wastewater network. Many Canberrans have also helped Icon Water free the poo by avoiding flushing wet wipes and binning them instead.
Icon Water’s Community Support Program will open today for applications from local organisations seeking support for the 2022/23 financial period.
